From this year we gonna be able to pay online with a selfie.

Selfies are not just a trend of the moment or an expression of our vanity. They can also have a very practical role. At least that's trying to show us Mastercard after a series of tests conducted in the US and the Netherlands. The company has announced plans to introduce biometric authentication payments this year.

Thus, Self Pay, facial recognition authentication, becomes reality. Users will be able to choose between scan their fingerprint and make a picture, instead of the traditional method of authorization by PIN.

How all of this will be achieve by facial recognition? The client upload on the site a photo of his face, which will be stored on servers MasterCard, and that image will be used as a reference for all subsequent authentications made a selfie.

Facial recognition authentication system will be launched in 14 countries before the end of this year. Regarding this I have my reservations, but admit that I'd love this payment option.

Asked whether they would prefer to authenticate a fingerprint or selfie 9 out of 10 Dutch  responded affirmatively.

Would you pay using a selfie?? Let me know and comment below??
